Hello all!
I recently installed a Pertronix electric ignition system and their recommend coil. I am trying to get the engine running tip top on the stand so when it is ready to go in the boat I should mostly be ready to go boating!
Today I wired everything up and was not getting any result. I have the battery (measure at 13volts) grounded on the starter bolt. A wire from the positive side of the coil to the positive side of the battery. The positive lead on the battery hooked up to the large bolt on the starter solenoid. Then a wire from the top of the starter solenoid going through a push button stater then an on/off switch then to the positive lead on the battery.
When I compress the starter button I get nothing. I have determined that my starter solenoid is bad. I am welcome to other troubleshooting recommendations. But I want to find out where to find a replacement solenoid, the one I am replacing was from NAPA but after going there today I found out they do not make an ST87 anymore.
Help please!
