Exhaust Pipe Thru Hull Gasket Sealant

Post by mlafrate » Tue May 03, 2016 3:30 pm

Hello Boat Buzz

I have a 1959 Sportsman that I'm restoring.

I need to understand what exhaust gasket material and sealant that I can use for my exhaust pipe to transom interface. Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks
Mike

Rope gasket material for wood stove doors, w/ caulk under the trim ring.
Boats are to be made of wood, otherwise, God would have grown fiberglass trees.

I have always used caulking cotton, like used to caulk plank seams. Then, bedding compound under the trim ring.
