Ammeter Needle

Post by Seneca Mahogany » Thu Aug 11, 2016 8:21 am

I had my Ammeter on a 1956 Capri rewired after a dash upholstery restoration and the gauge needle is fixed at -10 amps with engine off or on. I'm not sure if it was rewired wrong or isolating washers on positive and negative gauge terminals were missing energized and damaged and if so how can it be repaired ?

Thanks Don

Probably rewired wrong. If You disconnect it and it returns to zero, the meter itself is not broken.

I have removed amp gauge and needle still is frozen at minus 10 amps. Do you think it was damaged if wired incorrectly and if so how could it be repaired?
