Good day all. 1954 CC Sportsman with a KL Hercules engine. What type grease should be used in the water pump cup?

Per another suggestion I am using Quicksilver 2-4-C Marine Lubricant with PTFE has anyone had any issues with that grease? I've also seen Classic Boat Connection selling Castrol Pyroplex Gold but my research tells me that stuff isnt made any more.

Hi, Yes, you do remove the cap. Clean out any funky grease that might be in there. Pack enough grease in the fitting on the pump and in the cap to allow the cap to turn on a few threads.
Before a day of running give the caps a turn to keep grease in the pump.
