Hi Jake, mine leak a tad. but a rebuild aint no big thing, and worth doing over the winter. Not worth the risk. You can get kits and do it yourself. Or send to get rebuilt.

If it's leaking from the weep hole near where it mounts to the engine block, it most definitely needs rebuilding. There's a good chance if you see water at the weep hole, water may be entering the engine and mixing with the oil. Leaking from the covers isn't as bad, but it could cause a loss of water pressure delivered to the engine and leaks generally do not get better they get worse.

Except in Matt's case where a cracked leaking exhaust manifold miraculously healed itself by rusting!

I've got a customer with a KBL that I did a head gasket replacement 15 years ago. The deck of the block has 24 cracks in it. None of them leak because of rust stopping them up.

According to some folks out there, a pre war water pump should weep. Like your shaft. Post war water pumps do not leak. Rust or no rust
