Cold running KL
Have a KL motor in 18' Continental. It runs cold: never gets over 105 degrees. I have digital temp guage which I've checked and its accurate. Motor runs fine (50 hours on total rebuild), but think it should run warmer. Thought about putting restriction in water outlet on cylinder head, but thought I'd ask for advice first. Thanks
Re: Cold running KL
These engines have no thermostats so engine temperature depends on the lake temperature. I think I have seen an added thermostat but these engines seem to run just fine and forever without one.

Re: Cold running KL
Doesn't sound right. My KL runs about 150 degrees with a digital thermometer on the head.
Where are you measuring the temperature ?

Re: Cold running KL
Measuring using digital. Using same cyl head source as stock mechanical guage. Stock sending unit broke, so went digital.
