Show Prep
Just curious what everyone here does to prep their boat for shows, especially regarding varnish. Any good products that give it a good 1 or 2 day shine? My varnish is in pretty good shape, but would like to polish it up for the show this weekend.

Diesel fuel on the varnish and saw dust in the reverse gear to keep her quiet for a day or two.
I like 3M Finesse-it ll better though....and skip the saw dust.

3M Imperial Hand Glaze for varnished surfaces. I use only Epifanes, so can't speak for how well it works with other varnishes. They are very serious about not applying it in direct sunlight.
For water spots use diluted white vinegar - up to full strength for really badly etched spots.

Where can you get the imperial hand glaze? walmart? auto parts stores? Can I do this the morning of the show and do it on my topsides and deck? Thanks for the help guys.

3M Imperial hand glaze works very well. Use it like the name says "by Hand". Make sure you thoroughly remove it with a rag, because if you don't, it will leave a white film which is hard to get off once it dries.

Re: Show Prep
Auto parts stores would be the place to go.

At one time aircraft wax was recommended as it was meant to fill all the finish voids and make the surface very slippery in the wind.

3M Imperial Hand Glaze is readily available at any body shop supply store. The chain parts stores most likely will not have it, they tend to carry more retail lines.
