Bow Chocks for 1948 Deluxe Runabout

Post by mhestley » Tue Jun 28, 2016 3:56 pm

Please advise the style and size of bow chocks for my 17 Deluxe Runabout? Open or closed. I was judged last week with closed chocks and got gigged.

You need to have a talk with the judges or at least the chief judge of the event. Here is a photo of the correct closed chocks for a 1948 Deluxe Runabout. Let me know if you have any questions on the 17' 1948 Deluxe I restored one back to original.

They all had closed chocks. The best thing you can do if you are showing your boat is get the parts list for your model from the Mariners Museum and have an original or copies of a sales brochure or the pictures from the Museum that were taking for the brochure to back up what your bought is suppose to have.

Thanks for the quick responses. I was told I have Riviera checks. Pete DeVito's photo shows chocks that appear to be more upright than mine. Can anyone suggest a source for these? I checked many suppliers but no luck yet.

Call Jim Stabb 815-344-9663 email him at [email protected] and he will fix you up with the correct chocks. Tell him your story and let him know exactly what you are looking for. Look up the part in the parts list for the 48 deluxe and give him the part number.
If Jim does not have the closed chock call bud at Marine Classics 207-247-6862. I think the correct part number from Bud is JC1061.
