Finally! Tobin Bronze Prop Shafts & White Brass Rub Rail

Post by Brian Robinson » Mon Nov 28, 2011 7:46 pm

For those of you really anal about authenticity like myself, my good friend JIm Thorpe up in Idaho is making real Tobin Bronze prop shafts. They even come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Nearly all Chris-Craft runabouts came from the factory with Tobin Bronze shafts. Warning, they cost four times what a stainless shaft runs.

Jim is also taking orders for White Brass (a.k.a. German Nickel Silver) 1 1/8" rub rail.
Used by most boat manufacturers (including Chris-Craft) from the mid 1920s through approximatley 1932, this is the genuine article.

Jim Thorpe is a true craftsman and provides a premium product on time and on budget.

He is also a wooden boat enthusiast and owner, so he understands exactly what his customers are looking for.

Jim is a class act for sure! If you have metal work he is the first person you should call.

Beware...Jim is old school, no computer or email. Just pick up the phone and get what you need.
