This is a common problem. Make sure the relay is wired correctly, that there is current to the relay and that it isn't corroded inside which would prevent the points from connecting, activating the horn. If you do a search on Boat Buzz for "horn relay" you will find several discussions about this as well as a wiring diagram.

I don't know where you would find videos or a recording of a horn. However, it shouldn't sound crackling and screaming. It should be a steady loud sound like, well, a horn.

of course!

i find a screw that is like a tuning screw i'll have a look by this way...

it s a "two tone" horn (don't know if it's called as well just be comprehensive in French!) that i found on ebay , but not sure that it was the original CAPRI horn ... maybe son informations about that.

do you know if the horn model is specify on the documents that we could fine at the MARINER's MUSEUM?(hull drawing, cockpit drawing)??

thanks once more

I don't know if the original horn type, etc., will be described on the Mariners Museum documents. I doubt, however, that it originally was a two-tone horn.

There are Capri owners on Boat Buzz who will be able to tell you what your horn should be, voltage, etc. Maybe even a picture.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Pierre,
The wiring on the relay should be as follows
H = "Red" to horn terminal
B = "Dk Blue" To amp meter 12v
S = "Blue"To horn button (this is the wire coming out of the steering column.

Yellow wire is the ground from the engine to the horn bracket. Make sure you have a good ground for it to work properly.

The wiring from the horn button I believe is blue that runs to the "B" terminal on the relay.

By Capri has 12v and is a late 1957.

I do not know if the horn is original but it was mounted in this area inside the engine hatch. As you can see the relay was also changed. These two parts I believe tended to go out.

Hope it helps
Pete

Pierre: the above link will take you to the discussion of horns and horn relays as well as the wiring diagram.

Good luck.
