I now have something to work with. These babies are hard to come by.
At this time I'm considering having Mark Clawson build the fishscale gauges and have the panel plated at Artistic Silver Plating.
You can see the outer hole rolled flange has been cut off on both holes and a small bump on the center hole at about 4 o'clock. I'm checking to see if Mark can work with this.
Any other recommendations?

Clawson's plater is a silversmith and does excellent work. But he does take his. He did an awesome job on a 1939 6 gauge barrelback panel that was all cracked up along the edge with pieces falling off. Send it to Mark as early as you can.

I think it looks really cool showing its years.... I wouldn't shine it up at all. Only my view, but I also do not intend to re-plate anything on my old boat.

I don't mind the patina either actually. I'm missing two of the original gauges and all the bezels so they need to be reproduced. I wonder if the new gauges and bezels would look OK with the old patina panel?
The back plate is steel so probably needs some protection from rust. The front detail piece is brass.

yeah, matching those up is a issue alright....I had to put one new gauge in my panel and it sticks out like a sore thumb....??

Might be able to tone it down some.....my trim ring was the biggest giveaway that this was a repro add on gauge

The panel is at the resto shop. The two outer holes are already a problem for fit. They are going to see what they can come up with.
The engine is a 63 283, should I consider an electric tachometer or stay with the mechanical? I do not yet have the cable at this time.
Thanks.

I went with an electric tach. The original tach rotated counter-clockwise so because I was using a more modern V-8 that rotated clockwise, I went with a new electric gauge that Mark created with a spider web face. The switch on the lower left was something a previous owner had added. It now runs the blower.

Does anyone have an idea on how I could fill the gap on the two compromised holes?

Mark now has my panel. His bezels fit the holes pretty well. I'm going to leave the panel as is for now.

Not sure how correct you want the panel but the outer ring on the grape leaf panel should be nickel and then the inner would have been silver plated. Mark has done a couple of 5 hole panels like this for me and did a great job.
