Re: Removing starter
What make/model engine? Why can't the plug be removed?
Re: Removing starter
It is a 1957 k engine 95hp. Plug is very tighten and i am afraad i will brake thread...
Re: Removing starter
Sorry, but I'm not familiar with that particular engine and without a photo I can't see the plug location in relationship to your starter. Hopefully one of the more experienced engine guys will chime in and offer some advice. Wait a little and if no replies try posting again under Engines and Powertrain. Good Luck!
Re: Removing starter
Steve,
Is it the line in the middle of this photo behind the starter that you are concerned about ?
If you cannot clear it when the starter is unbolted then you will have to remove it.
Why are you concerned about damaging it ? It should just back out. I would be more concerned about putting it back in making sure not to cross thread it by starting it by hand.

Re: Removing starter
remove the oil line, then use a 6 point box wrench on the fitting.
It should come right out.
I use liquid teflon sealer on the pipe threads when re installing.
don't over tighten the fitting, they are hard to find.
