Seat Cushions

Post by tparsons56 » Sat Jun 09, 2018 8:53 am

The seat cushions in my 1941 19’ custom are comfortable but the covering is quite loose. Was it supposed to be loose or tight like I have seen in other classic CC’s?

Ya, those look a tad sad. maybe have them re stuffed with Kapock. Its leather? And that can stretch I suppose. But really not awful, Just a tad loose

Thanks Matt - good idea. The seats are leather and maybe the kapok has gotten “compressed” over the years.

Here are Slyvia's Seats from Rod Souza in California. Same model and color as yours. As you can see the way he did it had some sort of binding in it. A good cushion guy should be able to set you up.

Tom, we can do it, my upholsterer has Kapock on hand. Good call Matt, we can just add some to the inner bag.

I'm thinking mid August if that works for you. That way you can use it and then we will have time before the show.
