Boat Buzz Discussion Forum is Online
The Web-based discussion forum of the Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club is online and growing. Taking part in Boat Buzz discussions is a benefit of membership in our club. Guests may freely browse topics to learn more about the activities of our organization.

Registering As a New User
You will need to register as a new user on Boat Buzz. The new user registration page can be reached at http://www.chris-craft.org/signup/boatbuzz.php. You see a page that offers two options, one for non-members, and one for members. Click on the path that pertains to you. We use an "Activation" process - unlike typical forum registration processes you may have seen - to link your member records to your Boat Buzz identity.

After you are registered as a new user, you can bookmark http://chris-craft.org/discussion/ as your Boat Buzz start page.

How to Set the Time on Your Profile Page
Once you login to Boat Buzz for the first time, please take the time to complete your profile page by clicking on the “Profile” link at the top of the page. Your profile gives other Boat Buzzers a bit more information about you. On your profile page, you will see a field for “Timezone” under which there is a drop-down menu labeled GMT -X or +X. GMT stands for Greenwich Mean Time—each of us lives in a GMT zone also known in the U.S. as Eastern Time, Central Time, and the like.

You can visit this page, http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone/usa/ to learn more about GMT. Click on the state or country that you live in for information about your proper GMT time setting. This is an important thing to get right if you want your posts to reflect the correct time.

Questions
Once you have registered as a new user, you can click the FAQ link at the top of the page if you have questions. Everything that you need to know is there.

E-mail Notifications
Many of you prefer to be notified of new Boat Buzz posts via e-mail. Boat Buzz features a couple of e-mail notification settings:

1. When you make a new post, you have the option to automatically receive a notification to your e-mail address as soon as your post receives a reply. If you would like to enable this notification, click the “Notify me when a reply is posted” option. You will find this option at the bottom of “New Message” page.

2. You can also receive daily or weekly digests of all forum activity. Click the Digests link at the top of the Boat Buzz home page to configure your digest settings. You will receive a daily/weekly digest at the time of your choosing, directly to your e-mail account.

Old Memberclicks Posts
Once you log-in and start browsing topics you will see quite a number of posts from user, “Club Archivist.” These posts are actually reposts of old Memberclicks discussions. Currently, our plans are to repost content back to the beginning of 2003.

An Important Place to Be
We encourage all guests to browse Boat Buzz discussions, and we sincerely welcome new members who wish to take part in our club. We also feel strongly that every Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club member should take advantage of the information shared on Boat Buzz. It is our goal to make Boat Buzz the most active and valuable Chris-Craft discussion forum on the web. Please spread the word.

Thank you very much for your continued support of the Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club. As always, I am here if you need to contact me or if you are having any problems with the registration process.

With warmest regards,

Bill Basler
