Conqueror
From ClassicBoatWiki
Chris-Craft introduced the Conqueror to its fleet in 1953 and a model was available each year until 1963. The earlier models (1953-1958) grew in length from 52' to 55'. After the Constellation was introduced in 1955 fewer of the Conquerors were produced until in 1959 and 1960 a 40' model was made available which became very popular. It was extended to 41' in 1961 and 1962. The last year for the Conqueror was 1963 at 42' in length.

[edit] Overview
The early Conquerors were near the top of the line, playing second row only to the Motor Yachts and later to the Constellations. The early models could sleep 10 in 4 private cabin spaces. The later models would sleep 8 in 3 separate cabins. All models featured an aft lowered fishing deck accessible through an aft cabin door and a spacious fly bridge above the aft cabin. The early larger models were equipped with 2 full function lavatories (forward and aft) while the later models included 1 lavatory aft and a hidden head in the forward cabin. The large amidships salon featured an open step-down dinette area with a fully functional galley.
Special Note: In the 1936 Chris-Craft Full Line Brochure, the 31' Double Stateroom Cruiser is referred to as the Conqueror. Again, in the 1949 and 1950 Chris-Craft Fleet Brochures, the 52' Motor Yacht is referred to as the Conqueror.

[edit] Notes:
- Four of these were built in the X-55-101 to -128 Constellation hull series and were designated with CX-55 prefix. The Conqueror model had a small aft deck accessible from the aft cabin.
- This is the same as the 1959 model but received new hull numbering sequence following NAFI ownership.
