There were many models of the Double Cabin Enclosed Bridge, a name that ties closely to the functionality of the cruiser’s design as many did in the early years. The cruiser obviously has two cabins and an enclosed helm as the name implies.

[edit] Overview

Generally, these were medium size cruisers that included the typical forward stateroom or vee-birth, an enclosed bridge area (much the same as a salon) in the center and another stateroom or double-birth in the aft area. In some models the aft cabin utilized a narrow walk-through aisle in the center and births to each side with low ceiling clearance. The narrow center aisle projected through the center area of the aft deck and provided head clearance in the cabin and the “dog-house” provided seating on the aft deck. These were often referred to as quarter-deck cruisers. In other models the aft cabin ceiling was high throughout. These had a small aft deck accessible through a door in the aft cabin. The full width roof could be used for lounging or sunbathing. Some of the later models offered an optional fly bridge on the aft cabin roof.
