The Semi-Enclosed Cruiser is, as the name implies not totally enclosed. Generally, the term Semi-Enclosed is in reference to the helm area being provided with a roof and side windows but open to the aft deck. Some have enclosed cabin areas forward of the semi-enclosed helm. Note that cruisers referred to as "Semi-Enclosed" models are included herein.
[edit] Overview
The first Semi-Enclosed Cruiser offered by Chris-Craft was the 1936, 23.5' Sea Skiff, a name not to be confused with the Sea Skiff Division which began in 1954. This model was offered with an optional roof and side windows that was not enclosed to the aft. Semi-Enclosed models were offered on and off from 1936 until 1960 in lengths ranging from 19' to 40'. They were built by the Main, Cavalier, Sea Skiff and Roamer Divisions. Other models that are not included here are the Super Semi-Enclosed, Super Deluxe Semi-Enclosed and the Semi-Enclosed Sports Cruiser.
