I aquired a Sportsman last July and Hagerty covered over the phone no problems. I do have classic cars with them. We did a follow up on coverage and was transferred to Markel . Now renewal might be a different proposition.

I have seen photos of a stern boarding ladder on some of the U 22 and other Sportsmans.
I have an 18 Sportsman did Chris ever offer a stern fixed ladder for the 18? If so I would like to find one.

I decided to replace the particale board forward bulkhead with 1/4 ply. 4 coats of enamel looks much better.

1. Put an in line fuse between pos battery terminal.
Closer the better.

First I know my 1948 18 Sportsman my not have had factory installed 2 in fender cleats. I do not have hull card and do not care. Boat is out of shop with fresh varnish etc. Will be enjoying her on a regular basis and docking a lot. I have new Perko chrome cleats. Shout I install 2 per side or 4? Als...

Thanks so much for the information. My previous 48 17 Deluxe did not have it. Must have been removed at some point. Wood Duck 2.jpg She has a fresh K95 put in this fall and fresh varnish. I have not had her in the water. Loved my Deluxe but let her go 17 years ago and was never happy. Thanks again!

My restored 18 1948 Sportsman has a forward bulkhead made out of particle board which is falling apart and looks like...Crap!
Is this orginal to the boat or was the bulkhead was only half way up and not cheap particle board?
