Neil,
Last night saw on Seattle Craigslist 1940 19' Barrel newly "restored" orange deck seams, marble banjo wheel, pigskin upholstery, modern power with original available and...the seller was motivated. No price was listed. Best of luck!

Thanks Bill that works great. The confusion I had was that I was not searching for a specific item, I just wanted to peruse the latest ads by date or title. I understand now that I can use the search without entering a Key Word and it will allow me to sort the ads in the category I want. Thanks for ...

Once again I have to say that SEARCH works great. I was going to do a post that asked Mark's exact question, but I thought I should do a search and see if it had already been asked. Search took me right to this post. Great Job Bill. I agree that the "Better Placement" option on Trading Dock should g...

Sandpoint ID - 7th Annual Wooden Boat Show
Does anyone have any details on the show at Sandpoint July 10-12? I have not been able to access the Inland Empire Chapter website. How big a show is this? Where is it being held? Thanks Dean

That must have been a common "improvement" to old boats in the sixties. Woodro you are fortunate to have the wheel and throttle mechanism to return your boat to original. I am still looking for steering and throttle parts for my '29 triple if anyone has one in their shed. http://www.postimage.org/aV...

Doug, judging from your avatar you've got a pretty old boat. Another issue the guys on the forum brought to my attention was getting rid of the old bottom feed original tank for safety reasons, and replacing the tank with a top feed. With a bottom feed tank if you get a leak anywhere in your fuel sy...

I agree, great show. It's a great location, beautiful scenery. The highlight for me was a ride in Rob Dapron's beautifully restored 1928 Chris Craft triple. I attached a few photos of the show. http://www.postimage.org/PqjUlKS.jpg http://www.postimage.org/PqjUAIJ.jpg http://www.postimage.org/PqjV68A...

Try www.mortec.com The site tells you where to look on the engine for various numbers and then has tables that tell you casting dates etc. I think it also lists heads. Good Luck.

The non-original stern pole on my 1929 24' triple is 39". I attached a link to California Classics
http://www.californiaclassicboats.com/chris6.htm where they list a stern pole for a large pre-war runabout at 40" overall. Hope this helps. Dean

My boat also came from Lake Hopatcong. My hull card just states it was shipped to New Jersey but I know the buyer lived on Lake Hopatcong. From the posts it sounds like there were two Chris Craft Dealers on the lake, Hockenjos and Lakeland Marine Base. Does anyone know if one or both of these dealer...

I don't know if anybody else is interested but I sure would like to hear how you guys are making out on the 2 3/4" copper pipe. How about a status report for the rest of us? Exhaust hose or copper pipe
I have been following with interest the post on "Source for 2 3/4" x 0.50 Copper". Beyond historical accuracy is there any advantage going with copper pipe instead of exhaust hose. The hose is less expensive at $18/ft compared to $28/ft, but the big savings are that you can buy it by the foot and it...

I have a LH(prop), Flywheel back, 327 that according to mortec.com is a 62-67 327. However if I am reading the code correctly (L78) has a casting date of 12-7-1968. The casting code on the heads says they are 1968 70cc 307/327. Is there any way to tell if it is a 283/327 or a 307/327 as referred to ...

Boat Buzz Search is Great
Bill, I just wanted to pass along an atta boy. The search is easy to get to, easy to use a...

I hope that is not the only way. I have the same old "crackley" caulk. I don't know how old it is but it sticking up and cracked. I was hoping to be able to remove it and then get by with a few coats of varnish so I can get a few seasons out of the existing finish before doing a complete restoration...

Mike, The boat is a model 3, Hull #2349, Hull card shows May 1929. It was a one owner boat that spent it's life in New Jersey, possibly Lake Hopatcong. It looks like someone may have changed the dash as it looks unlike any 1929 dash I have seen, but I can't see any evidence underneath that the wood ...

I recently priced a new trailer for a 1929 24' runabout. I tried to attach the Sheet that Loadmaster sent but couldn't figure out how to save a word doc into a format the image uploader would accept. If you want I could email it to you. I think it is the same trailer you would need as it is pictured...
