Correct prop for a 1974 cc dory?

I recently acquired a 22’ dory. It has been repowered with a mercruser 350. 240hp? Not sure what prop was on her or what should be. I think 14” is the diameter but not sure of pitch. Anyone know what speed to expect?
Thank you

Correct propeller for 74 22’ dory

I recently acquired a 1974 Chris craft dory. It was repowered with a 350 mercruser 240 hp I believe. Does anyone have any idea what prop should be on this boat? What was on originally with a 307? What speeds can be expected?
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Fender cleats/cover tie downs

Thanks Brian,

Did the dealers ever install these. My predicament is I have no way of holding the in water cover on.
If I add them does it detract from the boat?.

Fender cleats/cover tie downs

Can any one tell me how many cleats were on a 19' 1956 capri and their location.. Any information would be appreciated. I am thinking about adding them to my capri to hold the in water cover down?

Are the bungs from the same wood?
Try 2 part bleach. Sodium hydroxide/hydrogen peroxide available from good hdwe, may have to sign for. They can ake bombs with this stuff.

Re: Strut Tolerance

The rubber against the shaft in the bearing should be tight when new no tolerance. The bearing should be tight in the strut. Cut it out with a hacksaw careful not to cut the strut. When you put it back, put the bearing in the freezer overnight, heat the strut carefully a little with a torch, slightl...

Bleaching

Get the two part. Hydrogen peroxide and sodium hydroxide. Works well first time.

Fuel tank

If you take the tank out, you can clean it and epoxy coat it. Restoration suppliers have a kit just for this. I did it and my tank is like new.

Does anyone know where I could find a carb for a KLC engine. I have tried Jim Staib and a couple other sources. No need to be rebuilt. Any help would be appreciated. The tag number is 11849

Battery

Just a couple thoughts. Do not store battery on concrete. This can kill a battery very quickly. Always set the Battery on a board or some sort of insulated material. Second thought, if you do put battery on port side, make sure your cables are heavy enough to carry the current of 6 volts. 3rd though...

Props

Typically as you stand behind the boat. The right hand starboard prop turns clockwise from behind. The port prop turns cc.

Removing prop

Not a good idea to block prop and bottom you can easily damage or bend a blade. There is a vice grip with a chain looks like bicycle chain. Home depot. Wrap around shaft and then loosen bolts. You may even take several wraps of rope around the shaft and fasten to motor mount to secure shaft. Good luck

very important!

When you hook up water to the engine, put a bucket in the boat and run water to the bucket, let the engine suck it out of the bucket. This way you will not risk water being pushed into the exhust system.

Water in oil

If your mechanic put a hose on the water intake, 1. I would find a new mechanic, 2. He could have pushed water into the exhaust valves and it could have leaked past the rings and into the oil.
