Re: Fuel Additive
YES. Sta-Bil marine grade all season to keep the internal stuff safe and additional per instructions on bottle for winter. Fresh gas in Spring because I'm told octane degrades over time. Our mechanic has kept our original K purring for years.

Re: So I Went to a Vintage European Car Swap Meet and Ended Up with This ...
Wow. I recently replaced our identical gauge that had a cracked back case and and stuck mechanism with 2 junk tachs, getting one perfectly good one as a result, but it wasn't easy. At the time, I couldn't find what you found. Our grand-daughter used white nail polish to "finish off the pointer needl...

8 cleats. Enlarge photo to see 4 on a side. (one on the port side is visible just above sticker on windshield.) I have cord on both ends of fender, hang fender with top cord and run bottom cord to adjacent cleat, fore or aft as required, to prevent "fender creep.)

Re: Cleats (small) on '52 Riviera
We're 2nd owner our CC Deluxe. First owner was next door and as a kid I remember it had a tan canvas cover with trimmed slits and cords for the cleats just as Greg W. described. Cover is long gone but cleats are still perfect for fenders. Sorry, no pictures but I remember it was not a tight fit, jus...

Here's what I did with my '68 Porsche 40+ years ago. I got married, bought a house, with a mortgage, had a baby (now 43) and sold the Porsche. Ah, what a life! I'm older; no regrets. Enjoying our '48 CC Deluxe and waterfront cottage.

Thank you again for all you guys do.

Hi.
I too have to login each time starting today.
And my browser (Windows 10, Firefox, Webroot anti-virus) warns me that the login is "not secure." Did not happen in the past.
Thanks for all your work.

Lake George NY is fighting Zebra Mussels, Asian Clams, Milfoil, and other invasive species very aggressively. We now have mandatory boat inspections at all launch ramps (Lake George is 32 miles long.) I'm not sure whether we are winning or postponing, but it has been a very pro-active program. Unfor...

1948 K, cold start: some throttle, full choke, crank 'til fires which usually is fairly quick and on firing immediately no choke and adjust throttle. Works for me with very rare exception.

My 1948 (95 HP K) trans definitely takes a push-nudge to "lock" into Forward; Reverse has always been a gentle hand pressure backwards on the shift lever, not locking. When starting the engine in neutral (hatch always open) I can see the prop shaft not turning. It is a feel with the shift lever you ...

On my CC 1948 17' deluxe runabout the hull card is checked "self bailer cleaned". That inverted V pipe in the back of my boat has always worked perfectly. Whenever water was in the bilge it would disappear soon after gaining planing speed. We do have an after market electric 6V pump but since new bo...

Re: 48 Deluxe Runabout Interior
On the hull card for our 1948 Deluxe, under upholstery, there are checkmarks for: "fwd. cockpit, 3, stern cockpit, 3". Thus 6 cushions came with our boat in addition to the one-piece seat backs and bottoms. Don't know if that was special order or standard.

Re: Insurance company wants a sea-cock; get opinion from Hagerty.
Our 1948 17' CC Deluxe has self bailer and it works perfectly when needed to drain splash and rain water and really worked well years ago when the previous bottom did indeed leak.
