1948 Chris Craft Runabout Deluxe Storage Cradle

I have a 1948 Chris Craft Runabout Deluxe that I will be storing in a boathouse over the winter. I'm trying to determine the best way to support her as she rests on timbers for an extended period of time. If possible, I would like to build a cradle similar to what she would have been first delivered...

Turn the key and hold it for a few seconds, it should fill up and start. Just be sure you do not have any leaks.
I've not once used that primer lever to prime the bowl. It will happen.
Jim - This worked.

Thanks again everyone for your help!

Re: Chris Craft Model K Fuel Pump Replacement

Do I need to remove the pump or can I just crank the engine over a couple of times?

Re: Chris Craft Model K Fuel Pump Replacement

Thank you for the responses.

I installed the new pump but I'm not able to get it to prime the fuel bowl using the primer lever on the pump. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot? Also, I placed some fuel in the bowl first before installing.

Re: Chris Craft Model K Fuel Pump Replacement

Thanks Mark -

I'm assuming the lever coming off the fuel pump goes under the lifter inside the block based on the shape. Is this correct? Did you use gasket sealant when you attached the pump?
Also, are there any Torque settings for the bolts that attach the pump to the block?

Re: Chris Craft Model K Fuel Pump Replacement

Yes, I'm replacing it with the same fuel pump (FP1) from Classic Boat Connections

Chris Craft Model K Fuel Pump Replacement

I’m planning to replace the fuel pump on my Chris Craft 1948 Model K engine and wanted to check to see if anyone had details on how to properly do this.

Model K Engine will not turn over

I have a 1948 Chris-Craft Deluxe Runabout with a Model K engine. This past weekend it stopped running. It was starting and running smoothly without any hesitation. This Monday it started fine and then died a few seconds later. I did a restart and the same thing occurred. The third time it stayed run...
