Re: open seams in new 5200 Bottom
Yup, agree. it should swell up. That west coast dryness is torture on these boats. Talk with the guys at Sierra Boat Co, they deal with this all the time and why so many boats out west are fiberglassed.

Re: open seams in new 5200 Bottom
If you are on the West Coast its very dry there. If the boat is from the other parts of the country shrinkage can happen. The boats on Lake Tahoe can open up alot in that dry climate. Also if you have the boat on a cement slab it can do the same. Maybe, get moisture on the boat and see if that helps...

Re: Constellation Bottom Repair - New Member In Need Of Reassembly Advice!!!
John and Troy are right, I love the Boat buzz, but you can get so many opinions that it will make your head spin. Don s advice is clear and makes sense. But what makes the most sense is to focus on one method and focus on that. There are so many solutions that will work, like opinions, one of them i...

Re: Fire extinguisher
There used to be a website on the topic that had all the catalog info. Its litterally different every two years. Someone may have a screen grab of that chart. It was well done and now a dumb plumbing site? UGH. If you can score a ACCSESORY catalog from 1941 there will be one photo in there. I might ...

Re: Chris chraft dealer service trucks
I was thinking of doing the same thing with my 1958. I saw on the Irving Files video we posted they had several in Red. But slightly different than these. I would image the only thing that was asked of the dealers was that the logo was right. I would also consider that they used a Certain Yellow, wi...

Re: Chris Craft name plant Font
If you are looking for the Chris Craft logo font, as much research as we have done, we cant find a font. True logos use unique fonts, especially back in the day. There are several evolutions of that logo on the post war font as well. With that said, that boat is around the 1970's and it would make s...

Not to add to the confusion. First absolutly with a 5200 bottom. Start there and its not an issue. Something you may consider is a later model woody with a plywood inner hull. I have mine on a lift all summer and it fine with no 5200. I will be honest that I wish it had the 5200, but with the plywoo...

It's worth what you want to put into it. If you are looking for fun vs show stuff, dont spend a cent on it. Buy a new motor and you will thank yourself every time you start it. If you want a show boat that smells, spews oil in the water then you will dump 200-400 bucks in the out board. There is a s...
