The 15.5' split cockpit from the 1930s was also nailed together and putty over the nails.

The horn draws a lot of amps for a real short time. Feeding from the line side stops the ammeter needle from
flying around.

Looking for a BIG project?

I have watched this boat most all my life. Construction started in the 1930s or 1930s in Chicago. When the boat started blocking the alley The builder moved it to McHenry sometime in the 1950s or 1960s. It sat on the side of HWY 120 as it was worked on. Sometime in the late 1960s or early 1970s it d...

The safest way to get it done is Hire an experienced antique boat hauler. To flatbed it right now probably $3-4 loaded mile. The cheapest way is probably to advertise on one of the hauling boards. Best part is most boats go to California very few ever leave so maybe it could be a backhaul.

Spend the time to do it right. When you are done you should be able to turn the prop with one hand with a lubricated strut bearing. If not you are loosing horsepower. Before moving the engine sideways rotate the shaft and make sure the gap stays in the same place. Do the same with the engine side co...

Henry,
It has Michigan registration. Find out what department registers boats in Michigan and ask who it is registered to.

Remove the snap ring that holds the lever to the rod. The button is held on by a screw from the rear. Pay attention to where all the small parts go.

Actually the "Extra" should be different than any you used. The K series uses 7 main bearings. The M series also uses 7 main bearings. 6 are the same in both engines. By making the set with 8 bearings it works on both K and M series. Pitch the extra.

Several years back i sold a 33' Ditchburn to a man from Canada and delivered it. It went in on my trailer that I brought back out. They charged me tax on the sales price. The purchaser wanted to make sure tax was paid as he needed the papers to register it. This was pre-911. I would not try it now.

Mainly it depends on where it was made. US built products returning are duty free. Your home state may tax you on it when you register it. If you buy it register it at home and bring the papers with you when you pick it up. Could take several hours so cross in the morning.

Paul,
You have the correct prop. 7906 is an 11X12X1RH
That's what the book calls for. It was later changed to a 606 (11x11 1/2x1rh)
This is from the 1927-1942 parts list dated May 1, 1957 to replace the list dated May 15, 1955

You need to pull the pump and get a part number from it. They used several different pumps on that engine. Quite often it is on the mounting surface. Rebuild kits are available for most older pumps. New ones are pricey.($773)
