"Flexible Marine Coupling"
Group: How about info and experience with these units? I have them on my 1966 Cavalier Seastrake 33 foot. Are they original equipment? Who has experience or comments about their pros and cons. Mine seem to work ok, are obviously high quality. These units are solid brass, have internal gear drive and...

Flexible Marine Couplings: Now there is another subject entirely! I have those on my 1966 33' Cavalier Seastrake...the one's pictured look similar, you must remove the boats and take the coupling apart in my experience, then squirt some PB Blaster liberally on the shaft connection after removing the...

This ethanol debate spans the spectrum! People whose credentials you respect call be on either pole of the discussion. Somehow we need to get to the facts here. The price of gas has KILLED the market for the old cruisers, couple that with the fear of ethanol and lots of good old boats will go homele...

a Couple of points. In this month's WoodenBoat there is an article that mentions canvas cabintops. Says that the new 10oz duck available today is NOT suitable for these repairs. Some time in the last 20 years they have changed the compostition of this available cotton canvas and it is BAD. See this ...

4 Barrel vs. 2 on Gm 350's?
Group: I have a 1966 33' CC Cavalier Seastrake, restored. Replaced orig 327's with 350's. Each has four barrel. I never run this boat above 3k rpm, NEVER. Don't think it wise and don't need to exceed the 15 to 16 knts this get me. Up on top nice and ok on the fuel consumption at 2800 average rpm. Th...
