Trailer for 24' Sea Skiff

Winterizing? Summerizing? Covering? Trailering? If it is about a boat out of water put it here.

Trailer for 24' Sea Skiff

Post by gusto » Sat Jan 26, 2008 12:43 pm

I have a 24'-1962' Sea Skiff. I need to replace the trailer. Would it be more costly to buy a new one or have an existing trailer fitted to my boat? I plan on using the boat 10 times a year.

I recently priced a new trailer for a 1929 24' runabout. I tried to attach the Sheet that Loadmaster sent but couldn't figure out how to save a word doc into a format the image uploader would accept. If you want I could email it to you. I think it is the same trailer you would need as it is pictured with a Sea Skiff on the trailer. The price before add on's was $4165. Hope this helps. Dean

Question is, how far are your trips going to be?

I got a "screamin" deal on a used Eagle trailer, spent hours cutting, grinding, sanding, painting, replacing brake lines, wire assemblies and rebunking. Not only did I spend hours but I have a few "boat bucks" into the project as well. I did all this about a year ago.

My NEW trailer should be ready this week.

I wish I could get all the money out of my old trailer to put toward the new trailer. It's funny how the things we "can't afford" end up costing us a lot more than doing it right the first time.

My advice, get a nice trailer and be done with it!

I agree with Mike, I did the exact same thing by rebuilding an old trailer then ended up buying a new one.
