Paul,
I was looking at the photos of your interior. Looks
fantastic. I was wondering what you used on the side
panels. I have two of these out back of the shop and
i'm thinking of bringing one for a winter project.
thanks,

Gosh I am sorry to reply to this post soooo late, I just now saw it!

The side panels on this skiff are light weight plywood, original, covered with a marine vinyl. Instead of using the stock metal edge protection which was damaged, I used a more modern edge protection out of plastic that I purchased from West, and then I also purchased a can of vinyl interior spray on dye to match. Believe it or not, this stuff is very durable and I coated the white plastic edge protection from West to match the interior of the boat. You can see how it works here.

I chose to leave the original vinyl on my original plywood side pieces, to give a little extra body and cushion. As a result, the original metal edge guard on those side pockets would not have fit anyway, so I went to the plastic edge you see in the photos. Sadly, the original metal had been pretty well abused over the years.
