I have a 1961 23' Skiff, I have been thinking about opening up the bow and adding seats to it. Has any body, done or seen this yet? Thoughts?

Well anything can be done. I hope you have considered the "if it should be done". I am a big fan of leaving old boats and cars Period Correct.

If you do push forward you will need to leave the bulk head in place. More specifically replacing it with a step thru type. Think upside down horse shoe. Then at the port and starboard sides it will need to attached with gusset s. The fore deck will still need to be there too to tie the bow together and hide the lift ring and the running lights.

Could be a problem with balance and weight distribution adding that much weight forward. Might want to throw four or five hundred pounds up on the bow and do a test run before you start chopping. I wouldn't do it.
