5200 paintable?
Using 5200 on bottom repair. Is it paintable?
Re: 5200 paintable?
Yes. It is.
Make sure that you seal your new wood with CPES, the several coats of barrier coat primer before bottom paint.

Re: 5200 paintable?
The seams were filled with 5200 in 1990. primed with Interlux Primer and finished with Interlux Brightside topcoat. This picture was taken a few weeks ago. The seams have opened a bit because the boat has been out of service for 9 years, but the paint is still adhering well to the 5200. The discolouration is just surface dust. Not washed recently.

I swear from the picture I would but that baby in the water and just Go Boating! Good initial work all those years ago...and still looking way tighter than most that spent that long on the hard....
