This is on the forward deck of a 1970 38ft connie salon.
What the heck is this?

Is it connected to anything ? Could be a water tank fill cap. Nice piece of hardware.

It looks similar to the fitting on the side of our 57 constellation. I believe it is a shore telephone connection

Hard to tell with the lid off but looks like a shore water connection. Look under the deck and see what is hooked up to it.

Looks like a fitting we had on an old cruiser to feed the anchor line down to the rope locker. When you take the cap off is there a notch in the base for the line to rest in?

Oh well, There goes my theory. You are not alone though. I found this on a search of Paul Uhn Cat no 325. It shows what goes into it.
