prop shaft for 1947 Chris Craft 17' Deluxe Runabout

Do any of you know the length of the prop shaft for a 1947 17' Chris Craft Deluxe Runabout? A year and a half ago I dropped off a prop shaft at a company recommended for doing this work by my ACBS chapter. I had used this prop/shaft repair company before and had been satisfied as I only lived an hour away from them. We have since moved away and my conversations have been by phone. The last conversation I had with them, my new prop shaft was packaged, along with the original and would be sent to me "right away". Of course, it was paid for. Nothing came and I started calling. No answer, left messages, now there is no room in the voice mailbox to leave messages, and just last week I found out they went out of business and the building is up for sale. So, long story short, I need a prop shaft and have nothing to take measurements from. Thanks, Howard

Thanks tph. Just wondering how you had the correct measurements.....do you have a shaft for this model that you measured, or is the info on some Chris Craft specification chart? Thanks very much!

Howard,
I had a 17' Deluxe but forget the actual shaft length. Once you get it you can get a new Stn Stl shaft in a couple of days from Deep Blue Yacht Supply. I have done business with these guys and they are great..
