Water Pick Up Scoop

Post by gallagh59 » Thu Aug 16, 2018 9:30 am

Several of the veins on my original water pick up scoop are missing or damaged. (1959 Continental 18') I purchased what I thought was an identical scoop; Groco STH-1000-W 1" NPS inside diameter. The scoop looks identical to the original scoop however when I try to attach the fitting that goes to the water pump (2 hoses) it will not thread properly. It only goes on about 1/2". I could try to force it but I'm thinking the threads on the new scoop (NPS) are a bit different than the original Chris Craft scoop. Any comments or suggestions????
