Its most likely 1/4 inch packing but to make sure you should measure it. Take the diameter of the shaft which is probably 1 inch and the diameter of the inside of the inner packing nut which should be 1 1/2. Then you subtract the shaft from the ID of the nut and you get 1/2 inch divided by 2 that equals 1/4 inch. Hope that helps.
